← Balhaunis, the village the system ships

Village Generator

The procedural side: a layout engine that plans a settlement from a seed rather than reading one off an authored map. It is not what a Crows village uses — that map is authored — but it is still in the repository, and this page runs it directly.

The same seed and settings always produce the same village.

Form

In Cornath every village shelters inside a ruin. Open drops the shell and gives the settlement fields, water and woodland instead.

Drives how much housing the plan has to find room for.

Institutions

Each type wants different ground — the crypt is scored away from the centre, the stables toward a gate, the general store onto the busiest frontage.

Buildings

Foundry stands the authored stamps on the map as Tiles. Drawn is the procedural fallback, fitted to whatever plot it was given.

Palette

Repaints everything the map draws. The authored stamps carry their own colour, so they keep it — switch to Drawn to see the whole map in one palette.
